    American National Bank of Texas is looking to grow our team of Outside Mortgage Loan Officers in the Dallas/Fort Worth markets.  These OMLOs have the ability to build relationships that will maximize their earning potential with superior compensation packages, long-term goals, and the benefit of working with an established and trusted financial banking institution.


    Our Outside Mortgage Loan Officers are responsible for self-sourcing loan opportunities from their centers of influence outside the bank environment.  They are accountable for originating residential mortgage loans, pre-qualifying the creditworthiness and ability of customers to repay loans and servicing these loans to meet or exceed the Bank's credit quality, profitability and growth and service objectives.

    • Creates, develops, and maintains relationships with industry sources for the origination of investment quality mortgage loans in order to maximize volume and income
    • Interfaces with the borrower as necessary to take and document a complete and accurate loan application and determines creditworthiness by analyzing customers' financial condition, examining and evaluating the acceptability of collateral, and determining the capacity of the customer to repay the loan
    • Sets expectations for the borrower as to the processes required for loan approval and the terms of the loan applied for, and communicates with the borrower throughout the loan process, approval and closing stages
    • Responds to customer inquiries and referrals that are generated from personal contacts, and identifies and generates referrals for other bank services
    • Advises applicants of options available to then, explains the differences between various types of mortgages, and negotiates terms and conditions of the loan
    • Keeps up-to-date with conditions in the local real estate markets and with changes in rules and regulations pertaining to both private and government-insured mortgages
    • Position subject to SAFE Act registration requirements


    • High School Graduate with a minimum of one year in college, specialized or technical training
    • 1-3 years of relevant experience in mortgage lending with compliance training and knowledge or the equivalent. Knowledge of real estate laws and FMNA selling and servicing guidelines
    • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation for making outside sales calls
    • Requires registration with the National Mortgage Licensing & Registry (NMLS)


    • Knowledge of FHA/VA regulations, conventional loan requirements, and real estate law
    • Excellent communication skills and strong sales orientation
    • Ability to organize time and work independently and also to cooperate as a team member
    • Handles a low to medium volume of loans
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word;
    • Must be able to travel regularly from location to location
    • Lifting in an office setting may be required up to 30lbs
