    The Producer pursues and closes sales of new and existing insurance accounts and retains an assigned book of business. This sales-oriented position will also be involved with the overall management and administration of the accounts as needed and will also help establish and maintain relationships within the community.

    • Prospects for new business including determining needs, creating plans, and sales presentations
    • Collects detailed risk and underwriting information including survey data and loss history
    • Creates and delivers formal proposals of insurance including details of coverage, limits, deductibles, and other pertinent information
    • Reviews renewals and determines appropriate action and collection of information to prepare renewal submissions
    • Collects premiums when due and forwards claim information appropriately
    • Collaborates with others within the agency to complete company submissions and selection of potential markets


    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational/work experience
    • 10-15 years experience in sales; demonstrated ability to meet sales requirements
    • Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred; insurance industry designations preferred
    • Requires strong verbal and written communication, customer service, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills


    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to do simple math and carry out written instructions.
    • Travel to a variety of locations to perform work and/or attend meetings as required. 
    • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the position.
    • Must be able to travel regularly from location to location.
    • Lifting in an office setting may be required up to 30lbs.
