Responsibilities

The Teller is responsible for providing a consistently positive and professional customer service experience while handling routine paying & receiving functions for all customers.  The individual provides information to customers on products and services, and directs customers to the appropriate personnel who may assist them further.

 

  • Processes transactions; cashes checks, accepts deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, and issues receipts
  • Balances transactions and cash ensuring paper documentation and negotiability
  • Adheres to established internal controls on regulatory requirements ensuring compliance
  • Issues money orders, bank checks, traveler’s checks
  • Accepts loan payments and safe deposit box rental payments

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One year of cash handling/customer service experience preferred

Skills

 

  • Excellent customer contact skills; strong listening skills; comfortable asking customers questions about their financial situation
  • Ability to present features and benefits of products and services to customers with differing needs
  • Self-motivated, assertive, performs well in a team environment
  • Professional, thorough and organized; able to follow standard operating policies and procedures
  • Ability to learn products, services and procedures quickly and accurately and explain concepts clearly to customers
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; basic keyboarding and calculator skills
  • Must be able to do simple math and carry out written instructions
  • Ability to work branch hours including Saturday mornings
  • Lifting in an office setting may be required up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to move quickly between multiple workstations
