The Accounts Payable Technician performs accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.


  • Reviews and verifies invoices and expense reimbursements for payment
  • Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes
  • Codes documents according to company procedures
  • Reconciles and reports discrepancies found in records
  • Resolves discrepancies with payments and schedules and prepares checks
  • Researches and resolves issues across departments
  • Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Cross trains and serves as a back up to various positions within the department



  • High School diploma or GED; some college accounting courses preferred
  • 1-3 years of accounts payable experience
  • 4 years of accounts payable/general accounting experience or an associates or bachelors degree in accounting
  • Sales and Use Tax experience


  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex, detailed, data or information
  • strong verbal and written communication, customer service, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic keyboarding and calculator skills
  • must be able to perform intermediate math and carry out written instructions
  • Lifting in an office setting may be required up to 30lbs
